Flying Droid
Monday, March 28th, 2011Played a bit of Lego Star Wars III: Clone Wars over the weekend. It just came out last week, and a friend of mine and I have a bit of addiction to the Lego franchise of games. They do a really good job on building from previous versions, fixing annoyances and expanding on winning concepts in this new version.
The background and environment have better integrated puzzles, with more dynamic content. An example of this is having to build a crane to help you move train cars so you can get over a track and having to force throw bad-guys (or good-guys) at distant objects to turn something off or on. The characters also have some new features. Along with R2D2’s trusty flying ability, you can now force put him where you need him to go. If I remember right, this is a bit different from previous Lego Star Wars games where you could only throw him.
My friend doesn’t like switching to other characters, and is easily annoyed at the sometimes precise nature of flying R2D2, who can easily fall to his death if you don’t time the takeoff’s just right. So she decided to throw the poor droid everywhere he needed to go.
